Default Genuine Or Not

Hi Folks,
Picked these two badges up yesterday from a dealer at an antiques market. Are they genuine or have I wasted my money?

The Household Division badge is repro I am afraid. The die used is incorrect and the simplest tell-tale are the lugs. The originals were made with sliders.

Also, original Household are less oval and narrower.

Thanks for the info on the Household battalion badge. Has anyone got any views on the authenticity of the Kensington Rifles badge?

I'm leaning towards a negative on that one myself.

Hi.

I also think the Kensington looks a bit off.
The details are very indistinct, and some of the symbols on the coats of arms look wrong when compared to others.

To be honest I well and truly got caught with the Household badge. However, looking on the galleries on here there are some differences on detail between the brass and silver badges shown in the galleries. The quadrants on the brass badge http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ictureid=92239 appear to have stripes running in the background, but on the silver one it appears to have dimpled/mottled effects to the background http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...pictureid=7512. My question is, was a white metal badge for Kensington ever produced, is the one I have authentic as it has the dimpled/mottled background or is the one I have silvered and accurate.
Confused and need help....!
Thanks

I have also noted differing details and shape to Kensington badges. I would be pushed with many to say good or bad. Could be why the don't sell for as much as some London badges. Regards, Paul. PS You might want to open a thread on the Kensington badge to perhaps get the interest of the London experts.
