Default Map Collecting

I collect military maps of the Middle East. I have a growing collection but would like to grow it some more.

I have complete 1:50,000 coverage of Lebanon, some 1920's OS 1 in to the mile sheets for Jordan, and quite a few 1:100,000 of Oman. some Aden etc. Not really interested in aviation maps but I do have some escape maps.

Anyone know of any sources and is there a forum that covers this form of madness?

Eddie

I have some of Palestine (4 different maps) pre 1947 that belonged to an officer in the 1st (Guards) Parachute Battalion. There are six copies of each of the four maps and I am prepared to part with a set.

Not to dispose of I'm afraid, but I have a WWI "Palestrina" map, off the top of my head I think it's got a Bavarian officers name written on it, inked out, & a note that it was captured by the Yeomanry at an airfield at Nazareth.
And a c1947/route map of Palestine marked up to an RASC man.

If you go to the library of the Palestine Exploration Fund (founded in the 1860s strictly NOT religious or political) - they have hundreds of maps of the area - antique and modern. Most members (like me) are archaeologists / historians of the near east.
