City of London Yeomanry Rough Riders
In 1951 the regiment was authorised to wear the brass title shown on a Gaunt card from a National Archives file.
The regiment wanted to keep the cloth Rough Riders shoulder title it had worn during the war. The brass title is mentioned in Ray Westlake's shoulder title bible but not illustrated. I wonder if it was ever made? Has anyone got or seen one? Jon |

Being in excess of two inches wide [National Archives File WO/32/13014 - WO Memorandum 54/RAC/151(Ord 17A)] it was thought that this metal title would be too large to fit the shoulder straps of the average BD blouse. A recommendation for it to be modified accordingly was put forward, but it was felt that reducing its size would affect the lettering.
Would anyone know if any such modification was made? JT |
