opinions wanted on this queens rifles volunteers badge please

what are your thoughts on this badge please. looks good to me, has the remains of a silver wash to reverse. thanks in advance bc |

Hi BC,
Lugs should be north/south for glengarries. The crown looks to me to be slightly mis-struck, you are better able to see if I'm right about that. It appears to have age to it. So I thing I'd lean towards it being suspect based on the photos. Only my option and you do need more options. Regards, Dave |

I think a lot of the 1900 Fox ? restrikes made during the Boer War as a momento to support the troops generally had E/W lugs on them, so perhaps may account for the age.

Yes, I think there maybe some age to this badge, but I do'nt think that it is right.

Looks fine to me, I was going to bid on it but forgot, plus I already have one. N/S loops on glengarries tends to apply mainly to the line infantry regiments and it's not uncommon to find them E/W on Volunteer badges.
