Default BBC Junior Leaders Documentary

Just watched 'Breakaway' 'They think I'm mad' on BBC iplayer. A documentary following a young hairdresser joining the RAC Junior Leaders in 1968.

Well worth a watch (30 mins) how the world has changed....accents and attitudes lol.

Nice shots of Centurions, JL black and white slip ons, Black on red Instructors slip on whilst doing drills on the tank gun simulator and fabulous Tankies beret with broad band and hackle and ram rod straight back....a sight to behold lol.

Cheers
Sean

Sounds interesting, I've never heard of that one.
The Guards documentary from the 60's appears on YouTube in chunks, but the ones on Depot Queens Div, WRACs etc c1971-72 seem to have been lost without trace.

If interested follow it up with 'The Tuesday Documentary' 'Death or Glory' all about the 17th/21st Lancers in Paderborn filmed in 1968.
Chieftain Tanks, bored housewives and thoroughly depressed looking officers. Only surprised Ivan didn't come racing across the border the day after this programme was aired. They were probably only stopped by a formidable looking RSM and a great old school British Frontier Service guy.
