Life after Death
I came back from work yesterday to find my niece in tears.
I asked what was wrong and she told me that my dog Hugo (aka "the badge mangler") had been out doing his business, only to return with the neighbours pet rabbit dangling between his jaws. And very dead. She told me she felt so sorry for him (the rabbit), and full of pity had sneaked into the neighbours garden and placed the rabbit in his house in the pen in their garden so he could "sleep" at home. What could I say? I told her he was now bouncing around in rabbit-heaven with unlimited access to carrots. As I got home today, I met my neighbour looking slightly perplexed (and in retrospect, rather accusing) He told me the damndest thing had happened. Yesterday their pet rabbit had died. Their daughter had been very upset, and they had had a "funeral" in their garden for the poor thing. Today, she had manned herself up to go and clear out his pen in the garden, only to find him, unearthed, lying on the straw inside his house. I think I have to move house soon....

One of our dental officers once said that eventually we all end up in a retirement home where you want to have better stories than the other old geezers.
Tell me where you'll be retiring to because I want to be there to hear all the stories! Phil

I've managed to avoid them all day. They're probably busy trying to explain the concept of Death and Heaven to their slightly traumatized 6-year-old....

If the rabbit was a 'Norwegian Blue' he may have just been sleeping.
