Airborne Canada title opinions please.
Was hoping to get thoughts on this piece. Out of an older collection but I remain cautious. Was unable to find many examples of this on line other than the title posted in the Canadian projects links above. Was this type of title the forerunner to the 1 Canadian Airborne Parachute Bn title from the WW2 era?
All input will be much appreciated Jack

Good title. The obv colour should be dark green, with oyster (white) embroidery.
It was worn by personnel of the Canadian Parachute Corps, including 1 Cdn Para Bn before the spring of 1944 (when their printed bn titles were issued), Shilo Para School staff, recruits, and 2 Cdn Para personnel (for a short period of time until they were integrated into the First Special Service Force). The title continued in wear by depot/school staff after the war.

Thanks Bill, the colors are as you describe however the flash from my phone camera washed them out a bit. Interesting in that it was also worn post war by staff as you mentioned. Is there a way of telling WW2 era vs. Post?
Thanks Jack

Hi Jack, The post-war use was of the titles procured during the war. There were a couple of different runs with minor differences in the titles, but nothing significantly different.
