Unknown ATS shoulder patch
I am trying to identify a shoulder patch worn on the left shoulder of an ATS dress uniform in a photo dated 1944. The badge is diamond shaped, the upper half white, the lower half a dark colour (it's a black and white photo). Does anyone have any suggestions?

Like this. They also exist with numbers on as this informative article from The Formation Sign Journal of the Military Heraldry Society shows.

ATS attached to Signals badge
Thank you for your replies. The answer makes perfect sense because the ATS member concerned served at the Y Station at Beaumanor in Leicestershire.

Nice photo - what was the formation sign on her left sleeve?
She is also wearing the Royal Signals 'collar' badge as per my photo of one of the radio operator ATS Officers serving with the Special Duties Branch of Auxiliary Units (The British Resistance). I also attach a photo of another SDB ATS - can anyone tell me about her headress and pips which appear to raised? |

Your second picture is of a First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (FANY) Ensign (2/Lt).
