Tailor-made officer’s tunic, lined, Insignia includes
26th Battalion colour patches with miniature 25th Battalion colour patches sewn over the top of each patch

• Badges of rank (Lt) on each epaulette
• One brass wound stripe on the left lower sleeve
• Rising sun collar badges, Australia shoulder titles

This tunic belonged to Lt Douglas Kenneth Paine, 25th Battalion, AIF

In September, the 25th was one of several battalions ordered to disband to reinforce others. Its troops mutinied, winning the Battalion a temporary reprieve. They were allowed to keep there old colour patch in this manner.
He is 7th from the left back row the tall chap.
