Royal Marines in Brobrick caps, 1923
Sorting through a collection of images and came across this one, there was a debate here a little way back about when the Marines stopped wearing the Brodrick. The image is a recruit squad just after the amalgamation in 1923. All are wearing RM cap badges and some have Brodricks without peaks and other wear the cap with the addition of a peak.

Are these Brodricks ? or are they just peakless forage caps ?

They are Brodrick’s Andy. Interestingly the very first peaked forage caps issued were merely Brodrick’s fitted with peaks and still showing the curved scarlet patch behind, which can just about be discerned in the photo. Info all from the excellent book RMHS spec pub 41.

I couldn't make out the curve that was all.
