From left to right.

1) Post 1950 (remark, partition was in 1947, but India became a republic in 150 and thus changed titles and badges from then on): The Maratha Light Infantry (note the spelling, different then before). There is no number 14 connected to this.

2) The Mahar Regiment. This is a bit difficult, there are also badges which have the lower scroll in Devanagri script. And there are those which have M.G. in the middle part of the scroll.
The regiment was titled The Mahar Regiment from it's start in 1941. Changed to The Mahar Machine Gun Regiment in 1946 and reverted back in 1964 to The Mahar Regiment. Go figure at what time this badge fits, let alone when it was worn.

3) 2nd Nizam's Cavalry (Hyderabad). As India anexed Hyderabad by force in 1948, the badge dates most probably before that.

4) The Bahawalpur Infantry. Bahawalpur ceded to Pakistan, but the regiment lived on until about 1956.

5) Difficult to read. The monogram seems to be in Arabic script (most probably Urdu). The Latin script is also difficult: VIKAR-UL-OOMRA ????

Hi,
Further to the last response, here is a bit more info:

1. Maratha Light Infantry, post-Jan 1950. This badge is worn with a black diamond backing and a red (top) and light green hackle.

2. Mahar Regiment, post-Jan 1950. However, if the centre of the lower scroll has the letters 'MG' (from the photo, I can't make out whether there are letters present or it's just an uneven portion of the scroll), the badge is pre-1964; if it is plain (and just uneven), the badge is post-1964, this is when the regiment's machine gun role ceased in favour of a normal infantry one and the 'MG' was removed from the scrolls. The badge is worn on a green beret with a red hackle.

3. The Nizam's Own 2nd Hyderabad Lancers, post 1931 (after reorganisation) to 1948 and possibly 1951. In 1948 an Indian Military Governor took charge of the Hyderabad Army as it became an Indian State Force. The strength of the force was much reduced and many units demobilized. The 2nd Lancers continued until 1 April 1951, when all remaining units were disbanded. I don't know whether the badge remained the same under military governance.

4. 1st Bn Bahawalpur Regiment. This Pakistani regiment was formed shortly after partition. It comprised four battalions formed from the Bahawalpur State Forces. In 1956 the Bahawalpur Regiment was absorbed into the new Baluch Regiment, the 1st Bn, Bahawalpur Regiment becoming the 8th Bn, Baluch Regiment.
