Default India Cavalry cap badges

Several Indian Cavalry cap badges, in a row: 6th Duke of Connaught's Own Lancers, no scroll (surely not a collar badge, because of the slider?), 7th Light Cavalry (sand cast), Sam Browne's Cavalry (12th Frontier Force),

Loupie

I'd say NOT a collar badge given, as you say, the slider. Many of the 1930s/WWII period beret/puggaree badges used by the IA were quite small by British standards, perhaps because they were a relatively new thing for Indian ORs to wear. Not sure of the reason but I've seen quite a few which were small enough for collars but clearly meant for headress, so just put it down to "The IA does things differently."

Nice little collection!
