Default Indian Observer Corps

Does anyone know the correct (issue) finish for the Indian Observer Corps cap badge as shown below? This one is brass, but I have one that is painted black.

Cheers

This is a new one of me, I'm afraid, but I would guess brass/gilt would be more likely than black. Is the black paint or chemically blackened, or can you tell?

Its black paint over brass. I'll sort a photo. Mine and this one are the only two I have seen.

I don't think I've ever seen another. Interesting that the only two examples you have are different. A puzzlement!
