South African Button Badge of Not????

Dear Friends

I have attached an email photo that I received from my friend Quicksilver which shows a number of South African Button Badges and Balkie Bars.

There is a badge in the middle of the page at the top which is marked "Lightning Bolt", and was thought by Quicksilver to be a South African Button Badge.

Now I have contacted several well known South African dealers and collectors as well a some badge authors.

Not one of them has come back to say yes it is a Button Badge and there is even a doubt that this badge is South African at all.

Peter Digby's book dated 1984 which gives a very good insight into both Button and Balkie bars does not mention this badge at all.

I am now leaning towards the fact that it is not a Button Badge at all but would dearly love to know if any member of the Forum can identify it.
