The Daily Mail has him as a member of the Royal Army Corps.
Comment from a previous owner: 'When I bought them there was no documentation with the group, but, I was fortunate to obtain a substantial amount from two separate sources, but none of the badges were in my or the subsequent gentleman's possession and would appear to have been added to just bulk up the sale.' I noted that and bearing in mind that he seems to have joined the SAS in Italy, where he was tragically killed, it does suggest that the badges were not his but have indeed been added after.
