Airborne patches for age confirmation.
DSCN1280.jpg[
DSCN1281.jpg DSCN1282.jpg DSCN1283.jpg DSCN1284.jpg DSCN1285.jpg Hi guys, can anyone give an opinion on these Airborne patches. These patches came from a friend in the US and were all in one lot.The wings although they have vertical stitching i think are ww2 era, they came with another set with maroon back stitching[not listed] which i am sure is ww2.The Pegasus patches with paper backing with a maroon tint i think i have seen before, they have been removed from a uniform. The Airborne strips look like post war but not sure. The black cotton backing is lightly stuck to the maroon felt. any info would be much appreciated. Thanks,Steve. DSCN1284.jpg DSCN1285.jpg DSCN1284.jpg DSCN1285.jpg |

Almost as fresh as the bread I have for breakfast.

And I know my Dutch friends are always very particular about their fresh bread

Are the wings also suspect?

The wings appear to be original, but probably from around the sixties. Certainly not from WW2. The one you describe with a maroon back stitching sounds promesing!

I agree with Luc.
Steve, there's no such thing as post war airborne strips. |

There certainly are huge numbers of post war Airborne strips and they are completely spurious!

Steve, this one looks to me like a good WW2 wing, very nice indeed.

Very nice WW2 original wings, Steve. Note the maroon-like thread on the backing is quite unusual, allegedly specific to some 6th AB units.
