OSONS
I've just acquired the badge in my scan as a bye-product of another purchase. I suspect it is a copy, but would like confirmation before I bin it.
I've looked as a number of previous threads but they appear to be blocked, or inconclusive. Whilst not wishing to stir up past controversy again, can I get opinions on just this badge please? Stephen. |

Hello Stephen,
Your OSONS flash looks good to me. Personally, I don’t see why these would be reproduced as they are not big ticket items. However, I guess some people out there will reproduce anything for a buck! Cheers

Agree with the above, your badge is good. This was the version worn on the camoflage jump smock worn by members of the Canadian Airborne Regiment and later, personnel of the Special Service Force. Dated about late 70's-early 80's.

Thanks for your replies- it stays in my small Canadian collection.

Badjez, curious why you had doubt about this piece? Looks good to me as well.

Infanteer,
Glad to get another vote of confidence in this piece. Canadian badges aren't my forte. I had seen this design in green/black, and the numerous previous threads about these badges had confused me. A number of the other cloth items this cam with were junk! The manufacture made me wonder if this had been made in Germany or the USA, hence my doubts. Plus, "everyone is probably lying to me until the contrary is proven" has been my buying mantra for some time now! Thanks, Stephen. |
