A nice group & yes very rare, but not at this price he is asking - its very very high in my opinion. MYB gives a D of L clasp as approx. 6,000 pounds, but within a group of course would push that figure up somewhat, but not what he is asking.

Here is Description for future:
A very rare opportunity to purchase one of the rarest medals in British history, China 1900 Defence of Legations medal issued to the Royal Marines and a couple of others involved in the siege of Peking in 1900. This was earnt by my great grandfather, Henry Grainger. I have also included his other medals from the Great War and the corresponding dress medals which also include the China 1900 Defence of Legations dress medal. Please ask if you need more information or photos.

It's heavily overpriced. The RMLI medals are sought after; but the medals to the civilians more so. If I remember correctly, a Defence of Legations to an RM officer has sold for less than this within the last two years.
