Transjordan Frontier Force
Hi Guys,
I thought you might like to see these pictures of Transjordan Frontier Force uniforms. There are all of a chap called Frank Brailsford who served with the TJFF for it's entire existence 1926 to 1948. Pix 1&2 show him in TJFF full dress; winter with Kalpak and summer with keffiyeh and agal. You'll see he's wearing his 1914 Star with Mons clasp earned with the RAMC. He also served with the RIC as a Black and Tan and in the British Gendarmerie. In these pictures he as a British Warrant Officer and I am a little confused by his rank badges which are not the usual British pattern but are worn on the chain epaulettes. Pic 3 has him as Captain (QM) in the TJFF in 1945. Comments welcome Eddie |

With my poor eyes and the small images they look like stars, to me.

Hi Marc
Yes, I am sure you are right. I have this in my TJFF collection. I had thought it was a local officer's "pip" but on reflection I think it must be for use by British Warrant Officers, one for WO2, two for WO1 perhaps. |
