Cadet Expansion Programme uk
Plans are now well underway to make the C.C.F. 100 cadet units.
Does anyone know the names of the units and which school. I thought we should have a list. Kettering Buccleuch Academy/Oakham school Saxmundham school/woodbridge school Beccles school/woodbridge school Hethersett Academy/Wymondham school. only 96 to be added chaps. MoD support for schools Political interest in Cadets has been growing for some time and a new initiative has been launched involving cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and the Department for Education, with a target of 100 new cadet units (not all CCF contingents, as Community Cadet Force units and partnerships are also included) in State schools by 2015. If a partnership is proposed (in which pupils from the Sending School parade with the cadets of the Host School) it will be necessary for the proposed Sending School to register. The head has overall responsibility for the CCF in the school, but will normally appoint a Contingent Commander from among the staff to run the contingent. The school will also appoint a School Staff Instructor to manage the training and administration on a day-to-day basis. The officers who instruct in the contingent are mostly, though not exclusively, drawn from the school staff, and both they and the cadets will wear the uniform of whichever arm of the CCF they are in. The MOD supports schools by providing a certain amount of financial and equipment support, as well as facilities for camps and a wide range of activities, from abseiling, gliding and mountaineering to canoeing, sailing and shooting. Special teams from the Regular Forces are also available to provide expert tuition. Last edited by norfolk regt man; 05-10-15 at 09:55 AM. Reason: more info |

Dukeries Academy (badged Mercian Regiment) were partnered with Worksop College but are now independent.
Samworth Church Academy (badged Royal Engineers) were partnered with Mount St Mary's College (badged Mercian) - now independent. Heanor Gate Academy (RAF Section only) partnered with Repton School - now independent. City of London Academy (who I met at Summer Camp this year) rather uniquely badged to Honourable Artillery Company. I'll let you know others as I find them. PL |

A visit to my old school showed that Harrow School now not only has it's own CCF, but hosts John Lyon School CCF from just down the road.
No idea what badges/affiliations there are now. I presume my bothers unit at Merchant Taylors School is still going? Another check with Google shows my ex-girlfriends unit, Alleyns CCF, is also still extant. Ian H |

Found this on Tinternet. It said that there are 260 (how much??) Schools with CCFs: Then provides this list showing where all the members of the CCF Association are based. It's a bit hard to work out where all the breaks should be in the document, but I've given it a go:
