SAA Shoulder Title
Once again I’m looking to the experts for a helping hand. I’m trying to establish the time period, also where and how this title fits in.
It came with another badge I purchased. Obviously artillery that’s all I know. Made of brass and appears to be fairly light weight (thin) also the second ‘A’ seems to be mis-shaped. Could that be from wear or just the bad casting. Also is the back fastening unusaul? Any help appreciated. Tony |

Its a WWII lead casting of the South African Artillery s/t. This has a gilding wash applied which gives the impression of been brass.
Search for lead cast economy badges on the forum to find more information. Steven |

Thanks. Now that you mention it, it is quite plyable and easily bent.

This is the brass version for comparison. It has standard British style lugs. It was worn from 1934 to the 1950s.
