Default Two East Surrey Badges

Hi All,

I have these two badges but I cannot identify them.

I believe that the slidered version is okay, having two braize holes to the reverse, however, it is anomolous as I would expect the star to be WM. Perhaps it is was simply never applied or has become detached as it is otherwise similar to another one that I have? I welcome any opinions on this.

The second badge is on loops and is a pale yellow colour. If this is an 'economy' version I would have thought it would be slidered rather than lugged. Again, I welcome any opinions on this. If both are identified and genuine, I will offer them for sale along with my remaining East Surrey badges in the coming days.

Kind Regards,

Pete.

The second is a fake made using an old die.

I suspect the first has lost it's wm facing.

Would the first badge not have had sweat holes in the points of the star for the WM facing, particularly as there are two sweat holes for the central crest? Could it be an unfinished badge?

Hi Alan and High Wood,

Thank you for your replies and confirmation on the second badge.

The two vertical sweat holes on the first are in the same location as this badge with the WM star intact on the front. The lettering font is also the same.

KR,

Pete.
