Is this a VICTORIAN Bandsmans badge?
Guys
looking at selling this and wish to know if it is a VICTORIAN BANDSMANS badge or a later Regimental distinction award please? A rough price wouldnt go amiss too if you are willing to provide one.vic bandsman rear.jpg victorian bandsman.jpg |

Size matters!
The bandmaster badge is large, the band badge smaller. The former was introduced well before the latter. Durring most of QV reign the band badge was coloured worsted and a totally different design. The design you have definitely had an overlap around 1900, but I have never been able to pin down an official issue date. The smaller band badge is not rare: perhaps £20 these days, and a bit more for the bandmaster one. Don't take that as gospel: I have one of each so am relaxed, but someone out there might need just that item to fill a gap. |

I had hoped for thanks, sir.
But then I am old-fashioned about these matters, like not liking strangers calling me mate. |

THANK YOU Andy
Sir,
glad to see you living up to your name. I have been playing catch up with PM/Emails etc whilst trying to list/show items i accrued last Tuesday/Wednesday. I am still playing catch up. Whilst 99% i will reply immediately with a THANK YOU response (check out my other listings), i am sorry on this occassion that i forgot. In relation to using MATE, i am an ex squaddie of 19 years, and will normally address people as SIr off of the bounce. It is a shame that you have taken GREAT offence at something as minor as me NOT replying in a manner that you see fit. Thank you very much for your original response, i will ensure that i list the item correctly when i try and move the item on. Happy collecting. Jon |
