Regimental Flashes - ACI 219/1951

Another one for cloth collectors. A number of units in 1951 were permitted to wear 'Regimental' cloth flashes and ACI 219 of 1951, names the units who were allowed to wear those flashes and where on uniforms. These 'flashes' were to be provided at 'public expense' and one wonders if flashes previously worn were approved but 'privately' purchased. Sadly there is no description of the 'flashes' to be taken into wear.

It's interesting to note that whilst this ACI lists 14 flashes authorised to be worn by RA(TA) regiments, John Waring identified at least an additional 30 flashes worn by RA(TA) regiments in the period from 1947 to the demise of battledress. Perhaps there are other, later ACIs on the same subject?

Mike I'm just starting on the 1940's, so will post anything I find.
