Red sword on khaki = Auxiliary Territorial Service, City of London Company (worn point down)
Corrected by photo in next post to point upwards!
Parachute on khaki = Parachutist non-operational - (known as "lightbulb")

Thanks much Tim & Mike. Prompt and informative responses. Mike that is a great pic and would seem to be at odds with part of your description Tim. Sign is pointing up. No problem I have what I was after. Doing a bit of a clean out and have a small number of these patches joined as they would have been in the Q Store. Destined for ebay or similar. Also have a pair of those KC WO1s about to join said queue. Regards.....Rod
