Default Airborne or Parachute Company?

Can anyone identify this pocket or lapel badge please?

Three parachutes, one with a star on the canopy, and letters P A K. In silver with grey and two shades of blue enamel. The reverse is numbered 22, and impressed TF for the maker Thomas Fattorini and has silver hallmarks from the Birmingham Assay Office for 1944.

Could it be Polish Airborne Corps (Korps), a parachute manufacturer or packing company? Any other suggestions welcome...

Thank you for looking, Keith

I think that the Polish for Airborne is Samolotowy and for Parachute is Spadochron - neither of which really fit. The six pointed star is unusual. And being numbered and in hallmarked silver and enamel it would hardly have been a factory or company hand-out? Having said that - I can't help, I'm afraid. Mike

Maybe its something to do with PAK Parachute Co Ltd.
They made parachutes throughout the war, in all the major campaigns including Arnhem.

May be worth contacting Fattorini as they still make badges?

Thank you all for your input.

It is most probably a badge of the PAK Parachute Company Limited.

But for what purpose? Staff badge, "On War Service" badge, for VIPs, or...?

I will contact Fattorini to see if they have further information.

Keith

Small correction in Polish:
Airborne = POWIETRZNODESANTOWY
Parachute = SPADOCHRON or SPADOCHRONOWY
:-)
