Default Austrian-Hungarian Military Button

Hello,

I am new to this, so here we go. I found this Austrian-Hungarian while metal detecting in Western Germany. Two questions regarding it:

A: What does HVN BOH LOMB ET VEN GAL LOD IL REX A A XXXX(can't make out the year) translate to?

B: Does the number 20 at the base of the two headed eagle symbolize a regiment, and if so does anybody know which one?

Thanks!

-Greg

Hi Greg,
looks like you have a coin button - made after an Austrian 20 Kreuzer coin from 1826.
more details on translation per this link: http://jewelryartisans.proboards.com...nge-button-who

Hope this helps
Gary

Gary,

Awesome, thank you! I was amazed when I found this beauty. Barely 1" under the soil, on a long forgotten trail near by base. Thanks again.
