Has anyone got a 17th/21st Motto by Dowler? Any pics?

Finally, I get to take part in one of these list inspection exercises.

Did anyone so far mention Scots Greys - DOWLER, BIRMINGHAM?

Or the Wiltshire Regiment PP cipher (Post 1954) - DOWLER, BIRMINGHAM?

Hi Chris

I have found a "front image" of the DOWLER B'HAM A/A 17th/21stL. This was sold by Robbie at Dead Spartan on the 20/6/2011 (He bought it in a Marlows Auction).

I am guessing that DOWLER B'HAM sub-contracted for J R GAUNT B'HAM as the Motto is identicle to the "No Ear'ed" Motto made by Gaunt. I have an image of a Gaunt made "No Ear'ed" Officers H/M silver dated 1918 (also an OSD with Gaunt tablet)..... so the die has some vintage

Hi Griff,

From what I can see the front die is totally different - can you id some common die flaws between the two.

Regards

Chris

Hi Chris

here is an overlay .... what do you think? (60% filter over the 100% Dowler image)

Hi Griff,

You can't work like that - get some 20x and 30x loops off eBay and track down minute flaws.

By my eye though on these images they are totally difeerent - the lettering in the Motto is a good place to start.

Regards

Chris
