Annoyed, amused or sad ???
In December 2012 I sold on E bay a Kings Regiment reproduction Cross Belt Plate. My description clearly said that the item was a repro and the price achieved was £11.39.
The purchaser was a dealer, and I would emphasize that he is not a member of this Forum You can imagine my surprise when the item has recently re appeared on the market on the dealers web site at a price of over £120 and with a description that does not make clear that the item is not a genuine one. In the circumstances I don't know if I should be annoyed, amused at the mans cheek or sad that someone may pay good money for a dud item. Anyone experienced anything similar ? P.B.

hi peter, I don't think "annoyed" is the word on the tip of my tongue, however I'm not surprised by the greed of some people, he really should be ashamed. regards john

He should be named and shamed so that people like me who have only been collecting for a few months now know who is a good dealer or a rip off one.
Only for this forum I would have waisted a fair bit money on rubbish instead of good original badges. With not alot of young blood collecting these days ( AND NO WONDER ) its up to us the collector to stop these people from profiting from un knowledgeable people just like me. Paul. LETS PUT A STOP TO THESE PEOPLE. There are forums who have a name and shame area and its working fine. If you have had any experience like this post lets see who can't be trusted lets hurt there pocket they way the would easily hurt ours. |

I agree - this is a shocking exploitation of collectors who may not all have the wisdom and knowledge of many of the membership here.
Name and shame.

That's why I think this guy should be named and shamed so that the membership and the lurkers who use this site for reference are given a heads up.

I don't get it when people do not like naming and shaming. In this bloody country we seem quite happy to get ripped off. If someone is trying to rip someone off then it's up to people who know better and have the balls to do something about it.

Thanks to those who have submitted posts in this thread.
Those members who know me will know that naming and shaming is not my way ( I agree with David's comments ) and those who regularly check out dealers web sites will already be aware of the person I am talking about. If anyone wants to know who the dealer is , please send me a PM and will let you have the Dealers name in confidence. ( They do say " discretion is the better part of valour " and they also say " let he who is without sin cast the first stone ") P.B.

It's a pity we can't figure out a linked page where we can give seller's a star rating to 0 to 5, like on Amazon. No comments, just rate them. I wouldn't ave thought that could have any repercussions on the forum.

I take your point Peter, i hope my post doesn't offend you. But it does piss me off, I've been ripped of to the tune of £300 with a Household battalion badge, by some fat long haired northern arse wipe.

Hello Peter,
Sadly, nothing surprises me anymore, I just do my very best to avoid these people and certainly would want nothing to do with this idiot, never mind, put it behind you and move on. Regards Frank Quote:

Simon,
I think everyone's opinion is affected by their personal experiences in their dealing with others, whether they be Dealers or other members of the Forum ,so that there may be many satisfied customers of the dealer who's dealing started this thread. At the end of the day naming and shaming is all very well but it cannot negate the opinions of all the people who's dealings with an individual have been happy ones. It is up to individuals to come to their own conclusions in their dealing with others. What prompted me to start the thread was the fact that the item I sold was described by me as a reproduction and I would not have had a problem if the purchaser had at least sold it on as such ( i.e a reproduction ) at whatever price he thought it might achieve. Regards Peter

Hello Peter,
Whilst that's very true, I would say that there will certainly be a good number of people on here who would like to be aware of the identity of this fellow, at the end of the day, really just so he can be avoided. Bad news travels faster than good news from my experience. Regards again Frank. Quote:
