Default KC Irish Regiment Collar KC

Looking for some sage knowledge from anyone who can help.

Along with a recent lot, I found a single, left facing collar for an Irish unit but don't know which one.

Its a bit abnormal as it has the "QUIS SEPARABIT" scroll. Solid cast brass with black gloss paint, proper WWWII / Pre QEII posts. 36mm

Thoughts?

As I understand it the Royal Ulster Rifles traditionally did not wear collars as they had Rifle Regt lineage. However after the creation of the Brigade system in 1958, collar badges were adopted to make up forth loss of their own regtl cap badge.

This badge is usually attributed to The Royal Ulster Rifles.

Alan is true in his assertion that, as a rifle regiment, collar badges were generally not worn until the brigade area however, this does not apply to OSD and mess dress where collar badges were worn.

My opinion is that if RUR it is likely an OSD variation.

Member "Irish Horse" may be able to add more to this thread, hopefully he will see it.

Default OSD Collars

There are quite a few variants in the Rifles OSD Collars. Will try and get a date for yours.

I asked a knowledgeable friend who specializes in Royal Irish Rifles badges. And he thinks c1907 to just post WWI.
