RM Subdued titles

Gents,

When were the black on green Royal Marine Commando titles brought into service?
I did my AACC in 1990 and can't remember them been worn.

Reason I ask there is a lot on ebay and the seller states 1987.

They are certainly not 1987. They came in the mid 1990s about the same time as Soldier 95 uniforms were first issued but definitely after the Purple Star series of exercises in the USA. Hope that helps.

agree and that was first 3 commando brigade square TRF at about same time

thanks guys, i thought 1987 was well too early. the seller is selling them with a few arm daggers, title on ebay: "45 Commando Cloth patches & field medical card with injury photo 1987"

He is out by 10 years, authorised for wear from 1st March 1997 by Royal Marines Routine Order 09 of 1997

I think you will find he is referring to the photo;

"plus a photo of the injury, dated 23/6/ 87"
