Default RNAS Armoured Car division badge

Hi all

I came across this image of the RNAS Armoured Car division badge on a Rolls Royce site (Trading up from my current 2004 Focus... )

I always thought they were worn on the collar lapel? I'm sure, in theory, it could have be worn on the cap, and some probably did, but surely not as an official cap badge?

(I have seen some with a slider, but assumed they were fake, as there are not many originals of these kickin' round I think.)

So it actually was officially sanctioned as a cap badge for the division then?

Or was wearing it on the lapel or cap a matter of personal choice?
(that seems a bit laissez-faire, somehow? )

Hi

Photograph of RNAS Armoured Car Rating. Note the normal RN cap badge and RNAS ACC collar badges.
