Default Cavalry Regimental Buttons

Michel,
I have attached some photographs. Reference books are Buttons of the Regular Army 1855-2000 and Yeomanry Buttons 1830-2000 both by Howard Ripley.

The 10 Hussars may have worn a plain button in WW1, that's from the 1915 priced vocab reprinted in Howard Ripleys "Buttons of the British Army" and from Gale and Poldens "Regimental Ribbons & Buttons of the British Army" c1918?
