Default Reproduction printed canvas titles

Has anyone noticed the recent posting of reproduction printed canvas shoulder titles on e-Bay? How long before these are passed off as originals?

Hi Moe, Are you referring to the reproductions being sold out of the Hamilton area "for re-enactors" use?

Default Reproductions

The sad fact is that unless marked as such, it does not take long for reproductions to end up on the market as originals.

There are some distinguishing characteristics that one can use to tell them apart from the real ones. However, these are good copies (if we are talking about the Hamilton area maker) and once applied to a tunic and aged they will cause problems.

Hi Bill
The "Hamilton area" are the titles I am referring to. It would be nice if the people making these would put something identifying the repros as such.

It was passed on to a individual defending the vendor on a FB page. It had no impact. The vendor's "spokesperson" insisted they were for the re-enactors market. Odd, they weren't being marketed that way on ebay.
