591 (Antrim) Parachute Squadron RE
This badge, two examples of which are shown, is attributed to the Squadron which served with 6th Airborne Division from June 1943 until May 1945 when it transferred to 1st Airborne Division. It was placed in suspended animation in March 1946 but reconstituted in the post-war TA as an Independent Field Squadron, RE
The red hand obviously indicates its Ulster origins as the Antrim Fortress Company RE formed in 1937. Has anyone ever seen evidence of it being worn? And was it worn on BD or the airborne smock? Jon |

The previous threads are interesting but shed no real light on when and where the badge was worn.

My Late Uncle Robert Douglas Dean was their SSM from their formation. I am trying to find out the same info.
