Default Royal Marine Association Lapel badge

Thought I would share this nice little RM Association lapel badge I picked up from South Africa.

Bi metal (gilt and white metal) with the number 1716 on the reverse. Wonder who it belonged to and how it ended up in SA?

A nice example of the Kings Crown Royal Marine Association badge
My research suggests quite a few South African Officers served with Royal Marine formations during WW2 (including North West Europe)
