19th Alberta Dragoons
Here is a recent find, a very nice cap badge to the 19th Alberta Dragoons. This is an early cap badge possibly from 1911 to 1915.
Note the three lugs, and the Gaunt maker plate. The 19th Alberta Dragoons fought in Ypres, Somme, Vimy, Amiens and the Hindenberg Line and is one of Alberta's oldest cavalry regiments. Mike |

Mike:
A great badge. What are some of the tells that help you determine the era of this badge, or is it just the overall quality of it? Don |

I have always thought that the small head and lowered tail seems to me to be the early issue

Interesting. There are certainly variations in the size of the head and the position and size of the horse's tail. Thank you Don |

The construction / type of badge suggests a pouch badge.
