I think it might be Regerings Voorlichtingsdienst (RVD) = Government Information Service in Dutch

I may seem tiresome but the answer to the originality of the photo can be boiled down to two things , sorry three things ( no one expects the Spanish Inquisition )

1: an original period photo with post war added information strip/label (A label (as distinct from signage) is a piece of paper, plastic film, cloth, metal, or other material affixed to a container or product, on which is written or printed information or symbols about the product or item. Information printed directly on a container or article can also be considered labeling.

2: a postwar reproduced image which includes in its image in the reprographic process the aforementioned addition

3: a postwar reproduced image with post war added information strip/label

having said that I bet the blokes were a bit cheesed off with the fact that only a few hours/days before they were tucked up in bed in Blighty.

L'Office français d'information (OFI) was the Vichy French press agency. There is to my knowledge no such thing as the Regerings Voorlichtingsdienst, there was the Rijksvoorlichtingsdienst, raised by the Dutch government in exile in London during the War, and its pre War Dutch predecessor the Regerings Persdienst (RPD), which may or may not have continued under the nazi occupancy.
Why would the Dutch government in exile want to publish a German photo of British POW's with French captions?
The logo looks distinctly nazi or German to me.

William I apologise if my posts are construed as harsh. A belated welcome to the forum and thank you for posting this interesting item.

My comments on originality stem from the simple belief that the original photo has been amended with the text strip. Initially I thought to deceive you, but your later detailed images make me think it is indeed a period item.

Rgds, Thomas.
