Default 50th Northumbrian cash tape?

Hi friends

I have several questions regarding this FS.

What would the purpose of attaching the FS to a cotton drill piece?Three stitch down side and 1 top and 1 x bottom.

Was it to be sewn onto an epaulette or for attaching for a display(thinking out loud!)?

Also the woven FS is very thin and I have put it alongside a WWII Royal Marine cash tape for comparison.

It appears to me to have the same characteristic as a cash tape.

So were there cash tape Formation signs produced during the war and if so was that standard issue?

cheers

Phill
