South Notts Hussars
Hi all,
Recent purchase I thought I would share. South Nottinghamshire Hussars with what Chris Marsh describes in his tome as 1 of the rarest Firmin backmarks. Enjoy Gordon

Nice one Gordon, not a mark I've come across.
Cheers Tony.

Cheers, Gordon.
Enviable badge, rare marque. Here's another one; but this is Gold AA. The pics are not great, I know, but it really is Gold AA, not some sort of dark silver or discoloration. Maybe this is doubly rare? Awra best to all |

Rare South Notts Hussars Cap Badges. A hallmarked example.
Good afternoon.
I wouldn't want to rain on anyone's parade, but I would make so bold as to suggest, not as rare as the attributed hallmarked silver South Notts Hussars example, on cap, with mess-jacket, currently sitting on my desk. Assayed Birmingham 1908-9 with a sponsor's mark of J&Co., if memory serves me correctly. Only example I have ever seen: I'd be interested in learning of any similar example our SNH specialist collectors may have to hand. Enjoy. S. |
