the 4 french badges are british made from left to right: destroyer "le Léopard" Protestants in Free France destroyer "le Triomphant" Free French Naval Forces the medal's ribbons on field jacket look like WW1 ??? I look for more informations..... cordially Didier |

Didier, thank you for that information. Both the Leopard and Triomphant spent some time in England before starting their service with the Free French Navy. So having these badges made in England makes sense. I believe the Leopard was involved to a degree in the evacuation at Dunkirk.
What their connection to this group is remains somewhat of a mystery, but a good mystery. Best Jack

Hi Jack,
Medical personnel was used to have badges as presents ...(cf british nurse capes) In the French navy, ship badges are usually not worn, except sometimes in the photograph workshop ... Best regards .. Herve |
