Default 6th Armoured Division post-war

A nice shot of the sign of 6th Armoured Division as carried by the division re-formed in Germany in the early 1950s.

Can someone knowledgeable identify the tank and explain the uprights on each side of the turret?

Jon

Hi Jon

The "X" over the "75" looks a bit like an Artillery marking?

Perhaps its a an OP tank, and the pillars could be for a camo net?

Cromwell or Centaur?

Rob

A 'Cromwell' used by a Battery Commander, the uprights could be cam net mushrooms used to hold the cam net off the turret to aid observation.

Or some sort of Radio Ariel that I have not seen before.

Thank you Gents. I thought the poles might have been for a cam net.
