COUNTY FLASH APPROVED BY ARMY DRESS COMMITTEE
28.06.14 The CEO is delighted to announce that a County Flash has been approved to be worn by the Army Dress Committee. The CEO designed the County Badge in 2011 as a part of an initiative to give LNR a corporate image. Once the badge was widely accepted then the work began to obtain suitable samples and staff the case to the Army Dress Committee for approval which has recently been approved. The CEO explained, “with five affiliated Regiments it proved impossible to provide a badge or flash that recognised our association and there was no military theme across the three counties to provide a singular identity. We are, after all, community cadet force so I decided to incorporate the emblems from our respective counties instead. These have been used in various ways for many years and are easily recognisable in the community and in LNR too. A local company in Blaby, Leicester helped with the art work and after struggling to get samples a company in Lancashire has proved invaluable. I am pleased with the results and it will give LNR something it has been lacking – a recognisable corporate image.” The Commandant is equally delighted and he is looking forward to the Flash being worn by all soonest and especially at Annual Camp. There will be an initial ‘free’ issue (subsidised in part by the Commandant’s Fund) and thereafter the flash will be available, on repayment, through the CEO. The RSMI will be amending Dress regulations in the near future – it is to be worn by adults and cadets alike. The order has been placed for the flash and it is now just a matter of time before it is worn across the County. Thanks to The LNR cadet site for this info on the badge in this post. |
