Question Edward 8th Pattern Royal Engineers Repro?

Whilst browsing I noticed a dealer selling an Ed 8th RE ORs pattern badge for £200? I've had one very similar for quite a while and always regarded it as a copy, when compared to the other two I have! I've posted pictures of all three, the lugged one is a heavy gilt officers pattern with the other two slidered! I suspect the copy to be the one without the voiding between the Garter Strap and the flanking laurels? The bad one has poor lettering to the garter strap and the detail to the cypher is not that hot either!!

Your thoughts please, I'm considering passing on my thoughts to the dealer, as I would hate anyone paying £200 for a suspect badge and I'm sure any dealer worth their salt would gratefully accept the information! I've almost got into some "Hot Water" in the past when bring dealers items into question, I assure all that my intentions are in the interest of collectors, as a ebay seller myself, I always accept correction!!

Andy

Default RE BADGES

Collecting RE badges, I have found that there are one's that are voided between the garter strap and the laurel leaves aswell as non voided bagdes. This is seen from QV up to GV1R badges in gilding metal, bronze and gilt.

Hi,
I agree with Jerry, there are many variations around.
Here is my EdwardVIII for comparison.

Hi Tinto,
is that a replacement slider?

Hi Andy,
Looks like the original slider. However, it is S-shaped if you know what I mean,
a small section of the slider going "northwards".
Regards, Tinto
