Default FAKE PARA BADGE? Help!

hi, just need some advice from someone in the know!

Bought this badge off everyone's favorite auction site - I've done my homework previously and it seemed a good buy.

However!

Badge came in the post this morning and the rear and lugs look far too shiny and new to be original.

badge was advertised as 'could be ww2 or 1950's' which is fine but what I want to know is;

Is this a restrike/copy or is it a well looked after, overly cleaned original?

any help greatly appreciated!

No worries there mate a lovely sleeper with even a nice storage bloom discolouration. Points of clarification

1. Lovely crisp interior on the reverse side no degredation in crispness.

2. None of the obvious die floors seen on the fakes

3. Nice seperate crisp canopy lines

4. the detail of the rectangle at the bottom of the badge well defined and crisp

5. The crown is nicely proportioned as well

Lovely genuine badge bud, one of the more learned froum members I am sure will have an opinion about date but have no worries its a cracker!

I have to be careful here I may stir up a hornets nest!

Most collectors that is the majority believe Kings Crown with lugs and a split pin just like yours, with that nice original backing plate! (Thanks Andy) are almost certainly genuine WW2 issue.

Then kings crown with a brass slider are post war issue.

I am one of the majority who would be happy to say this is watime issue

Wait for the avalanche.......................

Paul

If its a Fake wouldn't the rigging lines be 'crossed over' and interlinking midway down the parachute? I don't see it on yours, looks like a minty!

Okay Ivan now you have my undivided attention!

the backing plate is worth more than the badge????? Or do you mean to a collector who wants to make the pairing of plate and badge a reasonable price would be paid?
