QVR - KRRC
Not quite service personel but I came across this plaque in Davies Street, W1 the other day.

The HQ of the Queen Victoria's Rifles was in Davis Street.
Is the plaque on their old drill hall?

Yes, there's one either side of the doorway. I wonder how many similar items there are on London's streets to the other regiments?

The premises are still in use by the descendants of the QVR:
Mayfair TA Centre, 52-56 Davies Street, Mayfair, London, W1K 5HR The following units are stationed at Mayfair TA Centre: F Company, 7th Battalion, The Rifles

This is the sort of thing I think is well worth recording. In the 1970`s I photographed the old drill halls I came across.
Attached are photos of the Liverpol Rifles badge on the front of their old drill hall in Upper Warwick Street Liverpool, now sadly demolished and a couple of pictures of the old Drill Hall in Widnes. At the time I took the Widnes photos the old drill hall was owned by a client of the firm I was working for .He had the intention of re developing the site and promised me the stone with the inscription on it. I dont know what I would have done with the stone and as far as I am aware the building is still standing. P.B.
