Default Ethiopia Reserved Areas - Police

Just finished reading an excellent book on the policing of the above, established in Ethiopia/British Somaliland in the immediate post WW2 period whilst the United Nations were sorting out how these fomerly Italian occupied territories should be governed.Initially South African officers, latterly British, with some expat Inspectorate and Ethiopian/Somali R & F.

Anyone ever encountered a badge for this Unit ?

Definitely rings a bell, somewhere I had an article from a military history or modelling magazine showing some badges: as I recall the Ethiopia Reserved Areas Police badge was the Ethiopian lion standing with one paw supporting a 'sceptre' resting on one shoulder, atop a scoll bearing "E.R.A.P.". I've moved a number of times since I last saw it, but I'll post an image if it turns up. I'm looking for a cap badge from the B.M.A. Eritrean Police - had one years ago but must have sold or traded it

Default Ethiopian Reserved Areas Police badge

This is the image I was thinking of: described as being in cast brass in G.A. Collinson’s article on the British Military Administration Police in the July/August 1984 issue of “Military Chest”.

Default E R A P

Apologies for these delayed thanks in posting this illustration which is most usefull. I find quite a number of BSAP types served in these areas although the vast majority returned to SR on completion of their contracts.
