Default 2012...Worst Year Ever?

Not wishing to put too much of a downer on everyone at this time of year, but speaking from personal experience I think this could be my worst year ever. Serious illness followed by surgery and complications resulted in a chain of events, loss of driving licence, loss of work, coupled with the benefits people telling me I don't qualify for anything because I paid the wrong NI in 2010 (unbelievable), made me think that after nearly 6 months it really couldn't get much worse.

However, this morning at 1.30 my first grandson was born, weighing in at 9lb. I guess what I'm trying to say is keep positive, and remember, this time next year we'll be millionaires!

Old Smelly, i know the feeling.
Went sick after months of pain to the Doctors, all to be told that i had pulled a stomach muscled. After a couple of trips to A&E 4 in total and doped up with morphine, i was finally rushed in to Hospital. I woke up minus my large intestines and an illiostamy bag, having my arse sewn up. I was told i have cancer. Months later i was rushed in again, it had spread to my liver so they removed 60% of it. I was then told it was terminal. I`ve had 6 months of the strongest chemo, this was horrible i lost my taste and the feeling in my hands and feet. Good thing about that is i can eat range stew for England now. I`ve now had my illiostamy bag removed and my arse put back into action, i know wear nappies. I`m 41 years old and have PTSD. I`ve been told that i have a good case for suing the MOD for DU poisoning but am loosing the will. I`m still on the sick and have been for some time now, but am worrying about looking for another job, i like to think i am honest and hard working but my mind is very weak.
PS, i am no longer terminal,..... i think that`s a good thing.
Anyway Old Smelly, i try and think there is always someone worse off than ourselves, it doesn't make me feel any better but it might you.

Blimey you two ?

Now folk may realise why I say there is nowt wrong with me ? I'm on the mend and I should have quite a few years left to annoy people

You are dead right though GG, there is always someone worse off than oneself although I must say you appear to be having the rough end of the stick, I have just lost one mate and I have another heading in the same direction, my favourite expression comes to mind, " life's a bitch and then it gets worse ".

Good luck with your problems mate and you Lee, oh, I agree with you re losing one's license, that's a right sod for sure, let's hope for a better 2013 for everyone !

Dave.

Hope you all have a much better year in 2013, There was me with the hump because of a customer not paying his bill. We tend to take our health for granted and there is always someone worse off than yourself. Congratulations on your first grandchild , Keep him away from the badges for a time, When my eldest boy was a baby I caught him in my drawers of buttons rearranging the order and eating any that looked tasty. Thanks for the good wishes. Things are generally not as bad as we initialy think, especially after you've been able to 'unload' a bit. For a moment I thought I was turning into Victor Meldrew!
May all your badges wants become true in 2013

Lee sorry to hear of your troubles, seems the world going to end tomorrow anyway! I'm gonna stand next to Alex Ferguson that way I'm bound to get an extra 10 minutes.
Cheers Tony.
