Default BLESMA badge Ladies Section

Found today

First time I have seen this variant befor thought I would share,

I had never thought their would be a Ladies Section however a nieve thought.

I would have expected the standard badge to be used by all.

Regards

Stephen

I think it is the same as that there was (until very recently) a Ladies Section of the Royal British Legion. It is within living memory that so many institutions and establishments were divided between the sexes. The Ladies Section of the RBL ran their own fund-raising initiatives and I imagine that the ladies of BLESMA might have have done similarly. Interesting to see, thank you for posting.

Would it have been for the wives and mothers of the BLESMA men?

I can't see there being enough actual limbless ex servicewomen to form branches anywhere.

Yes, my guess (as I think your logic is sound) is that it related to family supporters and friends of those afflicted.
