RA Territorial
Evening All
I would like some feedback from those more learned than myself (ie, everyone). I have this RA badge, and I was pondering this: 1) Do members like it? (not in some weird way, but more its conforming to the norm) 2) can someone tell me the significance, if any, to there being 6 cut-out spokes, as opposed to some I have seen with 4 cut-out spokes. (i.e. maker variations, different service periods, etc) Much appreciated Tim |

Hi Tim
Looks fine to me! Worn by Ra Territorials 1908-1917, when King George V granted them the right to bear the honours of the regular units, and the laurel spray was replaced by the "UBLIQUE" of the regular RA. Realistically, probably worn post-'17 for a few more years, alongside the new badge, as they wouldn't just scrap the badges they had. Regarding the number of cut-out spokes, I'm sure makers variations exist. But so do fakes, though I'll leave that one to someone more in the know! Cheers Colin

Hi Tim,
Looks o.k. to me as a badge. Regarding the number of spokes I could not throw any light on the subject. Good badge! Regards, Dave |

Thanks Gentlemen. I am putting the spoke issue down to maker variant.
Cheers, Tim |
